Upholding The Rights Of Female Garment Workers
Brief
Action Aid is a global women’s rights organisation that stands with women across the world on the frontlines of poverty and injustice. Action Aid wanted to produce a hard-hitting TikTok video to support the ‘She Wears the Cost’ campaign, putting pressure on Nike to pay US$343,000 in unpaid wages and US$1 million in damages to 1200 women garment workers in Cambodia.
Solution
Action Aid provided us with a range of campaign images and assets, including a letter addressed from the garment workers to Nike. We used this to script the video, and came up with way to reimagine Nike’s slogan into our wording: “Just do it. Just pay your workers”. We also developed a striking motion graphic style, combining bold text moments with supplied images to catch the viewer’s attention. The video was then tied together with a professional voiceover, leading to a clear call to action.
