Overview

Mapping Australia’s Future

Brief

Geoscience Australia engaged Laundry Lane to produce an animated explainer video and a set of short cutdowns to introduce the Digital Atlas of Australia (DAA). The goal was to help audiences understand the purpose and functionality of the platform, including how it connects trusted national datasets to help address key challenges across the country. The videos needed to be informative, engaging and accessible to a broad audience, from policy makers to everyday users.

Solution

We delivered a two-minute flagship explainer video that combined clean motion graphics, clear voiceover and animated data flows to show how the DAA works. The video explained the Integrated Geospatial Infrastructure behind the platform and demonstrated how live data streams from across government are curated into a single, easy-to-use tool. We focused on showing the tangible benefits of the DAA for both data contributors and end users, emphasising how the platform supports smarter decisions at local, regional and national levels.

To support broader engagement, we also produced three short cutdowns, each highlighting a key feature or use case of the DAA. All videos included open captions for accessibility and were designed in a visually cohesive style, with a focus on clarity, simplicity and trust.
