Showcasing Pacific Policing Through Story

Brief

The Australian Federal Police engaged Laundry Lane to produce a documentary series that celebrates the strength, culture and connection of policing across the Pacific. The first episode centres on the Pacific Police Tattoo in Papua New Guinea, marking the country’s 50th year of independence.

The series needed to capture more than just an event. It was about showing the spirit of collaboration between Pacific police forces and the communities they serve, highlighting how shared values of service, culture and respect unite the region.

Solution

We developed a cinematic documentary approach that combined on-location interviews, sweeping visuals and dynamic sound design to immerse viewers in the energy of the Tattoo. The stories followed police officers, musicians and cultural performers as they prepared for and participated in the event, revealing the personal pride and connection behind each performance.

Filmed across multiple Pacific nations, the series balances cultural authenticity with striking visual storytelling. Each frame honours the people and partnerships at the heart of the AFP’s regional work. The result is a powerful, human film that celebrates unity, resilience and the shared strength of the Pacific policing community.
