Talking About Cancer, Honestly

Brief

Cancer Council NSW wanted to showcase the importance of their 13 11 20 Information and Support service. The aim was to highlight that no question is off-limits when it comes to cancer and to encourage people to feel safe reaching out for support. The content needed to speak to a broad community audience, building trust and awareness of the service.

Solution

We created a studio-based video series featuring five Community Ambassadors, each invited to answer the kinds of questions people often think about but rarely ask. Their responses were candid, thoughtful and at times surprising, striking a balance between raw honesty and moments of humour, emotion and connection.

Shot against a clean white backdrop, the focus stayed firmly on the ambassadors, with subtle branded elements linking their stories back to the 13 11 20 service. Behind-the-scenes moments added warmth and intimacy, making the conversations feel natural and relatable.

The campaign delivered a suite of content: a main compilation, teaser and topic-specific social cutdowns. Together, these videos highlighted the breadth of support available and positioned 13 11 20 as a trusted, approachable service where every question matters.
