Overview

Healing Through Trauma

Brief

Red Nose engaged us to produce an educational video series as part of their Healing Through Community Program. The project aimed to address knowledge gaps among frontline healthcare workers in providing bereavement support after stillbirth or pregnancy loss, particularly for vulnerable population groups such as First Nations communities, CALD families, and people living in rural and remote areas.

The series needed to cover seven key topics; from cultural considerations in grief and bereavement to healthcare worker self-care, with each video running 3–5 minutes. The goal was to empower health professionals including obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwives, nurses, and social workers to deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive care, and to guide families toward additional support where needed.

Solution

We designed a series that combines lived experience voices with professional expertise to ensure the content is both authentic and practical. Each video blends filmed interviews with subject matter experts and community representatives alongside acted scenarios and animation to illustrate key ideas clearly and respectfully.

By integrating visual storytelling with real-world insights, the videos strike a balance between empathy and actionable guidance. The consistent style across the seven modules creates an engaging learning resource that equips healthcare workers to approach bereavement care with greater confidence, cultural awareness, and compassion.
