Each fortnight, “Video With…” dives into the best of the video world, from TV commercials to TikToks. There are just two criteria: the video must align with the week’s theme and must have the power to cut through the noise.
Our themes are inspired by conversations happening in the Laundry Lane office, ranging from “Videos with Mascots” to “Videos with Jingles.” The possibilities are endless.
What does “cut through” mean? It’s a video that stops the scroll, even if just for a moment. It might make us laugh, teach us something new, showcase beautiful craftsmanship, or evoke strong emotions (shock, awe, delight, horror, you name it).
“Video With…” is part investigation, part treasure hunt. Our goal is to inspire you to try something new in your marketing and communications journey and to explore the engaging and creative world of video production.
This week, we’re focusing on videos that highlight the realities of homelessness. The latest Productivity Commission Report on Government Services revealed a 25% rise in persistent homelessness over the past five years, a sobering statistic that underscores the urgency for change.
We’ve had the privilege of working with amazing organisations like Stepping Stone House, Coast Shelter, Homelessness NSW, YWCA Australia and Orange Sky Australia. Through these partnerships, we’ve seen firsthand the dedication behind providing support services, advocating for systemic change, and raising funds to directly help those who need it most.
We’ve curated a selection of videos that challenge outdated stereotypes and offer fresh perspectives on homelessness. From campaigns that spotlight powerful partnerships and community ‘mooovements,’ to stories that explore unexpected angles – like the connection between banking and homelessness, or turn everyday objects into powerful symbols, like Whitelion’s campaign that rang 15,391 payphones at once.
If you’ve made it this far, here’s a fact for you, former outback grazier Dexter Kruger becomes Australia’s oldest man, marking 111 years and 124 days.
