UTS
Clean, Green and Groundbreaking
Brief
UTS engaged Laundry Lane to create a research impact video spotlighting Algenie an innovative start-up developing algae-based biotechnology to remove carbon from the atmosphere and create sustainable alternatives to plastics, fuels and feedstocks. The goal was to bring complex climate science to life through storytelling that felt human, visual and full of energy.
Solution
We produced a cinematic short film blending rich lab visuals with interview-driven storytelling. The video follows Algenie’s founder and UTS researchers as they explain how algae, one of nature’s most efficient carbon absorbers, could hold the key to reversing climate change.
Natural lighting, close-up details and a clear, hopeful tone made the science relatable while reinforcing UTS’s role in enabling world-changing innovation. The result is a film that translates complex research into an accessible, uplifting story about creativity, urgency and the power of collaboration.
