Our Impact

We tell stories for good.

That means being good ourselves in how we work, who we work with, and the footprint we leave behind.

At Laundry Lane, our purpose is to spark positive social change by amplifying underrepresented voices, promoting inclusion, supporting good health and wellbeing, and driving empathy-led action in the world.

It’s not just something we say. It’s how we choose our work, who we work with, and how we show up for the communities whose stories we help tell.

Laundry Lane is also a certified B Corp, which means we meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency, and we’re independently assessed against them.

In practice, that means we prioritise purpose-led work, operate ethically with lived experience contributors, design accessibility and inclusion into our projects, and give back through pro bono work and community partnerships.

Our Road to Net Zero

Every business has an environmental footprint. We measured ours, and now we’re working to reduce it.

In 2025 we completed our first full carbon assessment. The biggest finding was that most of our emissions don’t come from our office or our cars, they come from our supply chain, the software we use, and the agencies and contractors we work with. That means reducing our impact requires more than switching off lights. It means making better choices about who we work with and how we work together.

We’re committed to net zero by 2030, and we’re tracking our progress every year to make sure we get there.

What we’ve done

  • 2022: Started composting in the office kitchen

  • 2027: Nearly there
  • 2029: 90% reduction achieved

What we're doing

Partnering with Orange Sky

We’ve partnered with Orange Sky, a not-for-profit providing free laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness. A percentage of each project we complete goes directly to supporting their work.

Supporting Rheumatic Heart Disease Awareness

We partnered with the Heart Foundation to raise awareness of Rheumatic Heart Disease in First Nations communities, a condition that disproportionately affects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians and remains largely preventable. It was an honour to bring our storytelling skills to a cause that deserves far more attention. We launched the video with fellow B Corps at Heaps Normal Health Club in Marrickville.

Cleaning Up Manly Lagoon

For the second year running, the Laundry Lane team got outside for Clean Up Australia Day. This year we went deeper, consulting with Mel from Manly Lagoon Friends to understand the local environment before rolling up our sleeves to clean up Manly Lagoon. We also made a short education video to help spread the word and encourage more people in the community to get involved.

We Built A Staff Gym

We converted our spare storage room into a staff recreation area and gym. Looking after the people who work here is part of being a good business, and this felt like a tangible way to put that into practice. Calling on friends, family, and Facebook Marketplace we sourced nearly everything second hand, giving some dusty weights a second life.

Running on 100% Renewable Energy

From July 2025, our office runs entirely on GreenPower. We’ve also installed an EV charger on site, available to staff and visitors. Two small changes that reflect a bigger commitment to reducing our footprint wherever we can.

Free CPR Workshop For Our Community

Sudden Cardiac Arrest can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time. In Australia, over 25,000 people experience it each year, but sadly, only 5% survive. We opened the doors of Freshwater Surf Club and invited the local community in for a free CPR training session with Heart of Nation. Heart health is something we care about personally and professionally, and giving people the skills to act in an emergency felt like a meaningful way to contribute to the neighbourhood around us.

Dalal's Story Wins At The WHO Health And Film Festival

In 2024 we partnered with STARTTS to tell Dalal’s story, a film created to promote equitable healthcare access for migrants and refugees navigating the Australian health system. The film went on to win the Migrant and Refugee Health Prize at the 2024 WHO Health and Film Festival. It’s one of the stories we’re most proud of, and a reminder of why getting these stories right matters.

Spotlighting The B Corp Community

We used B Corp Month as an excuse to do what we love, tell stories for the community we’re proud to be part of. We brought Sydney B Corps into our studio to capture what certification really means to the people building purpose-driven businesses, and sat down with the CEO of B Lab for a dedicated video series shared with our community. None of it was commissioned. We just believed it was worth making.
