Heart Foundation
Driving Action on Rheumatic Heart Disease
Brief
The Heart Foundation partnered with Laundry Lane to create a pro-bono advocacy film addressing rheumatic heart disease, a preventable condition that continues to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.
The film needed to raise awareness, support national advocacy efforts and contribute to growing momentum for systemic change, particularly at a time of increasing political focus.
Solution
We developed an advocacy-led narrative focused on visibility and urgency. The storytelling centred on a clear truth: we already know what works. Community-led, culturally safe solutions are in place, but sustained action and leadership are required to scale impact.
The film was designed to align with broader advocacy efforts, including the formation of the Parliamentary Friends for Ending Rheumatic Heart Disease, reinforcing the sense of momentum and opportunity for change.
The result is a focused and purposeful film that elevates the issue, strengthens the case for action and supports the broader movement to end rheumatic heart disease in Australia.
