Overview

International Day of People with Disability Campaign

Brief

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing engaged Laundry Lane to create a campaign for International Day of People with Disability that would promote inclusion, participation and equality, while building broader understanding of disability in Australia.

The campaign needed to move beyond awareness, challenging assumptions and reflecting the diversity of lived experience.

Solution

We centred the campaign around IDPwD Ambassadors, inviting them to lead the conversation through their own “Big Questions” – the issues they see as most urgent, challenging or revealing.

Through a mix of individual interviews, candid group discussions and cinematic observational footage, the storytelling surfaces a range of perspectives without reducing disability to a single narrative. The approach prioritised authenticity and allowed contributors to shape how their stories were told.

The result is a thoughtful and engaging campaign that encourages reflection, challenges perceptions and reinforces that inclusion begins with listening to diverse lived experiences.
