Pathways to Justice: Specialist Support, Safer Communities

Brief

First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence partnered with Laundry Lane to produce a national storytelling series that would help stakeholders, government and community audiences understand the scope and significance of the Family Violence Prevention and Legal Services sector.

The challenge was to communicate the complexity of the work while ensuring the stories remained grounded in lived experience. The series needed to make visible the impact of community-led, culturally safe services, while reinforcing the importance of sustained investment and support.

Solution

We developed a campaign-led storytelling approach, using a mix of short-form, mid-length and long-form content to build awareness and deepen engagement over time. Filming took us to communities across Australia, where unscripted interviews allowed advocates, frontline workers and community members to speak in their own words.

Guided by our Sensitive Storytelling framework, the production prioritised care, consent and cultural safety. Motion graphics, developed in collaboration with First Nations artists, were woven throughout to reflect identity and connection to community.

The result is a powerful and grounded series that brings visibility to the sector, demonstrates its impact in practice and strengthens understanding of the critical role these services play in supporting First Nations women and children.
