Overview

Helping Migrant Communities Stay Safe In Australia’s Beaches

Brief

On average over 100 people die from drowning each year in NSW and the majority are from overseas. Surf Lifesaving NSW engaged us to produce a series of videos to give multicultural communities practical tips to stay safe in the water.

Solution

We thought the videos would have more impact if we told real stories that showed the advice in action. In collaboration with SLSNSW we worked with 5 people from different cultural backgrounds with lived experience of close shaves or near drownings to tell their stories. By recording their interviews in advance of the shoot we were able to fully understand their stories and plan footage to tell compelling visual narratives.
