Social cohesion can feel like a big idea, but it really comes down to something simple: understanding each other.
Right now, that matters more than ever.
We are working in a landscape where communities are more diverse, but also more fragmented. It is easy to stay in your own world. Harder to find common ground. That is where storytelling plays a role.
At Laundry Lane, we see stories as one of the most effective ways to build that connection. Not by smoothing over differences, but by creating space for them. When people share their lived experience, it shifts perspective and opens up dialogue.
That is why this project with Multicultural NSW was important to us.
We partnered with The New Point Magazine to create the ViewPoint series. Each episode dives into themes like trust, community resilience, dialogue and difference, digital identity, and the role of young people in shaping the future.
We spoke with people across generations, capturing a mix of perspectives that reflect the complexity of multicultural Australia today.
