Our Relationship with the Australian Dental Association

The Australian Dental Association is a national body for the dental profession in Australia. We have worked with the ADA for over five years on multiple projects that have taken us all over the world including US, Canada, UK and Germany.

Project Purpose / Challenge / Outcome

The Australian Dental Association proudly hosted a fully virtual World Dental Congress in 2021. The digital event ran for 4 days and was broadcast to the world form the International Convention Centre in Sydney. The initial brief for this project involved travelling around the world conducting interviews with keynote speakers and leaders globally, however the pandemic prevented travel which resulted in the ADA pivoting to a fully digital event.

Our Process

The ADA engaged Laundry Lane as a video partner to produce a range of content before, during and after the event.  To promote the digital conference and encourage sign ups, we created a number of promotional videos for online distribution. Instead of in-person interviews as planned, we conducted and directed interviews on zoom with global leaders and keynote speakers.

Since this fully digital event was a first for the World Dental Congress, our team were excited to get creative and discover ways to boost engagement. We created a series of moving image speaker intros along with animated speaker slides which proved effective. Since this was a global event, we also sub-titled the content in different languages to ensure the videos were inclusive and captured a large audience.

We were keen to discover ways to encourage signs ups and build anticipation for the event so we created a series of teaser videos of each of the five keynote speakers. This allowed us to share snippets of content that showed the personalities and diversity of people and subject matters in a highly visual and engaging way.

Outcome

We created promotional videos and cut-downs as well as content to play during the event. We also filmed a Welcome to Country video at Barangaroo in Sydney which included an introduction with host Juanita Phillips and created an opening ceremony video that captured the essence and excitement of Sydney and the ICC as a venue which allowed people to get that sense of place and connection without being in Sydney.
